  报告题目:Star formation quenching in central and satellite galaxies

  报告摘要:The way in which the star formation in galaxies get shut down is a key, but still open question in the field of galaxy formation and evolution. SDSS and high-z deep imaging data have shown that processes that quench a central galaxy are primarily those internal to the galaxy such as AGN feedback and morphological quenching. For satellite galaxies, however, quenching is primarily driven by external processes occurring within their host groups/clusters such as ram-pressure stripping and tidal stripping. I will talk about our recent studies in this regard, for both central galaxies and satellite galaxies in the SDSS sample, as well as insights from the MaNGA prototype data for an inside-out quenching process in nearby green-valley and red-sequence galaxies.
