报告题目：Near-infrared studies of the nearest galactic nucleus

　　报告人：Dr. Rainer Schodel（IAA-CSIC, Spain）

　　Dr. Rainer Schodel is currently a faculty at the IAA-CSIC and leader of the Galactic Center Research Group. He obtained his PhD degree in Physics/Astronomy from Max-Planck-Institute of extraterrestrial Physics/University of Munich in 2004. He was a postdoc at University of Cologne before he joined the IAA-CSIC as a Ramón y Cajal Fellow in 2008.

　　摘要：The centre of the Milky Way plays a key role in astrophysics because it is the only galactic nucleus that we can resolve on scales of milli-parsecs. In this talk I will review the current state of near-infrared studies of the Galactic Center’s stellar population and massive black hole and their interactions. I will highlight ongoing work and discuss the near- to mid-term perspectives.
