报告题目:Propagation and fate of cosmic rays in cosmological ecosystem connected by filaments

报告摘要:Cosmic rays (CRs) can be accelerated in voilent and magnetised astrophysical environment. Those with the highest energies,up to 10^20 eV are likely associated with galaxies with active galactic nuclei or active star-formation.When studying CR propagation on cosmological scales, the interactions of CRs with matter/radiation is usually treated in a statistical manne, without explicitly considering the impact of large scale structures (e.g. cosmological filaments). However, the CR acceleration sites may be embedded in cosmological filaments. Then the CRs will be guided and may be entrained by the permeating magnet fields. Meanwhile,CRs may be destructed in hadronic interactions and suffer from energy loss. This means that some CRs can not be observed directly on Earth. To study this elusive population of CRs,we adopt an ecological approach which treats galaxies, galaxy clusters, voids and filaments as key components of an ecosystem. These component are permeated by magnetic fields with various topologies, leading to different types of interfaces between components.I will talk about the phenomenology for modelling the transport of CRs (of 10^12 eV - 10^20 eV) in this ecosystem.I will discuss the special role of filaments for determining the fate ofCRs and other astrophysical implications.
