现任中国科学院紫金山天文台副研究员。2016年意大利国际高等研究院博士毕业,曾先后在意大利博洛尼亚大学、北京大学科维理天文与天体物理研究所从事博士后研究工作。符晓婷深度参与了包括 Gaia, Gaia-ESO survey 在内的多项大型国际巡天合作项目,并作为科学组长领导11米望远镜莫纳克亚光谱探索者(MaunaKea Spectroscopic Explorer)银河系科学小组的工作,是我国空间站巡天望远镜恒星模拟星表的主要负责人之一。截止至 2025 年底 h-index 21。
其主要研究方向为恒星物理,包括从理论和观测两个方面研究恒星结构与演化、恒星元素丰度、银河系结构及化学演化。是国际著名恒星演化模型 PARSEC 的核心成员之一。
