Title：Lighting up the Dark with Lensing

Abstract：In this talk, I will provide an overview of the research currently being pursued in our group at HKU. Our aim is to explore novel avenues of how gravitational lensing functions as a powerful probe in investigating a wide range of astrophysical phenomena. Some interesting puzzles I will go over include illuminating the particle nature of Dark Matter using lensing anomalies, the subversive role of external shear in concealing lensing anomalies, how hydrodynamically simulated lensing galaxies compare to conventional lens models, and the unusual nature of lensed transients and how they may serve to unveil exciting things about exoplanets and little red dots.
