题目:The Einstein Probe: Hunting X-ray Transient Sources With Lobster Eyes?
摘要:The Einstein Probe satellite is China's first large-field-of-view X-ray astronomy satellite, which is known as the “catcher” of the cosmic outburst. The Einstein Probe's wide-field X-ray telescopes, inspired by lobster eyes, have a unique optical system that enables them to see a wider area of the sky. This wide-field coverage is particularly important for capturing transient objects, whose appearance is often random and brief. At the same time, the lobster eye optics are designed to provide higher detection sensitivity for faint transient objects. In this news item, we will briefly describe the lobster-eye optics of the satellite's telescope.

题目:Deep learning approach for cosmic ray trajectory reconstruction on the DAMPE mission
摘要:A deep learning approach is developed for the particle trajectory recon- struction at the DAMPE experiment. The presented algorithms constitute the fifirst fully machine-learned track reconstruction pipeline for space astroparticle mission. Signifificant performance improvement over the standard hand-engineered algorithms is demonstrated. Thanks to the better accuracy, the developed algorithms facilitate reliable absolute charge identifification in the tracker sub-detector in the entire energy range, opening a door to the measurements of cosmic ray proton and helium spectra at extreme energies, towards PeV scale, hardly achievable with the standard track reconstruction methods. In addition, the developed approach demonstrates unprecedented accuracy of particle direction recon-struction in the calorimeter sub-detector at high energies, for hadornic and electromagnetic showers.
