报告题目:Stellar Graveyards In Active Galactic Nuclei Disks

报告摘要:The formation of high-mass black hole (BH) binaries remains a central question in gravitational wave astrophysics. Some observed mergers—most notably GW190521—involve significantly more massive components, suggesting alternative formation channels. One promising environment is the accretion disks of active galactic nuclei (AGN), where dense gas and stellar dynamics can drive hierarchical mergers. In this talk, I present results from a suite of simulations exploring how various AGN disk and black hole population parameters influence the maximum merger mass and rate. We find that the AGN disk lifetime strongly affects the final BH mass, with longer-lived disks enabling more merger generations. Disk properties, along with the mass of the central supermassive black hole (SMBH), also play significant roles. These findings help identify which AGN conditions favor the formation of intermediate-mass black holes (IMBHs) and offer a framework to constrain merger channels through future gravitational wave and electromagnetic observations.
